ADVOCATE Residential Construction Advisors

Service / Team Assembly

The right team is the project.

A luxury custom home rises or falls on the people behind it. ADVOCATE assembles the architect, builder, engineers, designers, and specialty consultants who fit your project, then keeps them aligned around your goals, your budget, and your timeline.

Why team assembly matters

Most custom home regrets trace back to who was in the room.

The team feels mismatched.

Your architect, builder, and consultants are all talented in their own right. They are also pulling in different directions, and you are stuck mediating.

Roles are blurry.

Nobody is quite sure who owns budget, who owns schedule, who calls the consultant. Decisions stall, costs creep, and trust starts to thin.

You want it right before it starts.

You would rather invest in choosing the team carefully than spend the next two years correcting the wrong picks.

What Team Assembly covers

Five decisions that shape every phase of construction.

ADVOCATE provides independent residential construction team assembly services for homeowners, families, and investors building custom homes and major renovations across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, and the greater Arizona market.

Builder Selection

Independent evaluation of builder experience, communication style, construction approach, and true fit for the project you are taking on.

Architect & Consultant Coordination

Identify and align architects, engineers, interior designers, and specialty consultants so the team structure supports the project, not the other way around.

Interview & Qualification Support

We sit in on interviews, frame the right questions, and help you assess qualifications, references, and compatibility before any contract is signed.

Bid & Proposal Review

Side-by-side review of bids, scopes, assumptions, and exclusions so you can compare apples to apples and see where the real risk lives.

Contract & Alignment Review

Independent review of construction agreements and consultant contracts to clarify responsibility, manage risk, and protect the homeowner.

Who this is for

Built for the homeowner who refuses to leave the team to chance.

  • First-time custom home builders assembling their first project team
  • Families planning a luxury residential construction project
  • Owners comparing multiple builders or architects
  • Clients interviewing contractors and consultants and want experienced eyes in the room
  • Large-scale remodels or architecturally complex projects
  • Out-of-state owners building in Arizona who need a local advocate
  • Anyone who has been burned on a previous project and is choosing differently this time

The Owner's Representative role

One independent voice, picking the team for you.

During team assembly, an owner's representative cuts through the noise of referrals, sales pitches, and competing interests. ADVOCATE brings objective construction insight to every interview, every proposal, and every contract so the people you hire are the right people for your project, not the right people for someone else's bottom line.

We have assembled teams for custom homes, luxury residences, and architecturally complex projects throughout Arizona for more than two decades. The team you put together today is the project you live with for the next three years.

Common questions

Questions worth asking before you hire.

When is the right time to assemble the team?
Before you sign with an architect or builder. The earlier ADVOCATE is involved, the more leverage you have to align the right people around your goals, budget, and timeline from day one.
Do you replace our architect or builder?
Never. ADVOCATE is your independent owner's representative. We help you select and align the architect, builder, engineers, designers, and specialty consultants, then make sure they work together for you, not around you.
Do you have preferred builders you recommend?
We have decades of relationships across the Arizona market, but we are not on anyone's referral list. Our recommendations are based on fit, qualifications, and the specific demands of your project, full stop.
Can you help review contracts we have already received?
Yes. We regularly review construction agreements, scopes of work, and consultant proposals to flag risk, clarify responsibilities, and protect the homeowner before anything is signed.
Do you serve clients outside metro Phoenix?
Our core market is Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, and surrounding Arizona communities. We take select projects elsewhere when the scope and team fit our model.
